Hey there!

I'm Britney, the woman behind Harlow and Whimsy. Most days I'm balancing family life and a creative mind that never seems to chill. I have been married to my husband Justin for six years. I am a stay at home mom of three children; Ky, Emma, and Abigail. I also have an additional trio of fur children; Lucy the pig, Zoey, and Dixie. Before becoming a stay at home mom I utilized my cosmetology license as a hair stylist, this will also explain my constantly changing hair color. In my thirty something years on earth, I have always had a love for the arts and anything that allowed me to express myself creatively. If there is something I want, I will most likely try to find a way to make it myself. Creating things, DIY projects, and being creative are a few of my favorite forms of self care. I also love outdoor activities, decorating my home, junk picking, vintage collecting, and all of the strange & unusual things the world has to offer.

I started Harlow and Whimsy in the early months of 2020. My original plan involved renting a booth at the local antique market to refinish furniture, sell vintage pieces, and a few of my own handcrafted items. But things didn't go as planned, as well as many things that year. My plans had to shift to accommodate what was happening in the world. I decided to open my own Etsy shop and focused on selling macrame. I really enjoyed everything about running and making things for my shop, and still do today. But I knew I would eventually want more from my business.

So here begins the newest chapter of my business, picnic parties. As I have gotten older I have realized how much I enjoy planning parties. Planning out all of the details brings me so much joy. Everything about the process feels like a combination of everything I love; spending time with loved ones, decorating, DIY projects, creating a vibe, food, and of course cake! I really love seeing how people feel when everything comes together for one special day. My hope is that I will be able to bring joy to others by helping them plan special moments in their lives. I look forward to all of the memories that the future holds. I'm hoping this journey will bring joy to others and many unforgettable memories.
